names.py
import re

string = 'Perotto, Pier Giorgio'
names = re.match(r'''
    ([\w]+),
    ([\s\w]+)
    ''', string, re.X)
print(names)

You don't need parentheses or brackets for this regex string.

Try this:

names.py
import re

string = 'Perotto, Pier Giorgio'
names = re.match(r'''
    \w+,
    \s\w+
    ''', string, re.X)
print(names)

Good luck! ~alex

Many thanks to you :)

No problem :)
