CSS

I don't get it

it's saying I need to make sure to include an image tag that displays "img/numbers-01.jpg". This is how my list is showing:

<li>
<a href="img/numbers-01.jpg">
<img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt="">
</a>
</li>

Looks OK to me (I'm no expert!) - what's the link to the code challenge?

Yes, I didn't seem to need to alt="" code, the following worked for me:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section>
           <ul>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-01.jpg"/></li>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-02.jpg"/></li>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-06.jpg"/></li>
    </ul>
    </section>

    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

The lack of alt code will clear the compiler, yes. Nut the challenge does ask that it is there. Picky, I know. ;-)

Yeah - you've added a link too - it just wants the image tag - the instructions are pretty strict.

Don't add the anchor tags and just put your three image sources into the list items like:

    <section>
      <ul>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt=""></li>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-02.jpg" alt=""></li>
        <li><img src="img/numbers-06.jpg" alt=""></li>
      </ul>
    </section>

Hope that helps!

Steve
