Java Java Objects Harnessing the Power of Objects Increment and Decrement

I dont know why I can not create a method

I did public drive(){ }

and it said add a new public drive method

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private int lapsDriven;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public drive(){
    lapsDriven = 0;
    ++lapsDriven;
  }

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }
}

You have:

public drive(){
  lapsDriven = 0;
  ++lapsDriven;
}

You're missing the return type. In this case, the desired return type is... nothing, therefor the function return type should be void.

Try adding the void keyword between public and drive in your function declaration.

public void drive (){
lapsDriven++;
}

You initialize the lapsDriven variable outside of the method, and since the method is not returning anything you want to make it void.
