i dont understand how i am getting this question wrong

it keeps saying that task one isnt working anymore

Looks like you forgot to bring the lastName variable toUpperCase as well. The final result they require has the lastName in upper case like so - "23188XTR#SMITH"

Hi Raheem! You are missing toUpperCase() method on lastName variable. I made the same mistake here before. This should work:

userName = userName + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();
