Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java IO

i don't understand this question!

Using the console's printf method, display a message that says, "First name: ", followed by the first name that the user has entered.

It's in the course java basics

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("what is your name? ");

String lastName = console.readLine("What is your name? ");

console.printf("hello, my name is %s\n", firstName);

console.printf("%s is learning how to java\n", firstName);

console.printf("hello my name is %s\n", lastName);

console.printf("%s is learning how to java\n", lastName);

Hi Love Wallander, The questiion was: Using the console's printf method, display a message that says, "First name: ", followed by the first name that the user has entered.

Meaning you only need to put the firstName variable that you have declared earlier to the console.printf. like this:

// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("First name: ");
String lastName = console.readLine("Last Name: ");
console.printf("First name: %s", firstName);

You do not need all other console.printf statements in your code. I hope this wil help
