General Discussion

I feel like an idiot...just starting, am I the only one?

Been trying to keep notes, etc, and maybe I'm not near as quick as I originally thought, but I am having a hell of a time trying to get all of this down. I've had to go back multiple times on the videos to analyze what I'm doing wrong, and it seems like it's blowing over my head. Besides opening the video and the objectives separately and watching it over and over again, it seems everything is blowing over my head. Anyone else start out getting your ego checked hard?

Just got done with creating website structure, have approximately 3-4 hours into this total I believe.

Hi Eric,

I know when I got started there were times when I forgot a comma or a semi-colon and it broke. Many times it's the little things.

Which project are you working on? Maybe I could help.

@Eric - Perhaps try learning more HTML, before the Build a Basic Website course, as it tends to just jump right in.

Maybe try learning a bit about HTML from another resource first.

I'd suggest the Web Fundamentals course over at codecademy.

Also pick up a copy of HTML & CSS - Design and Build Websites it's the most gorgeously designed reference book I've ever seen, it's very print designer friendly.

@Eric

I am coming from a Print graphic design side of things I have been a Art Director for two magazines over the past 7 years and still have trouble with print from time to time, so web design/development is kinda a learning curve to say the least.

That being said I am having to learn new stuff to improve my current postion and better myself overall, good luck!

I agree with @James about trying out codecademy too.
