I have tried NSString *userNumber = self.numberField.text it does not work and then i also added all the methods from the previous video and that did not work either. Why does this not work??

8,976 PointsYou are double typing your "userNumber" variable.
Change
NSString *userNumber = self.numberField.text;
to
userNumber = self.numberField.text;
