I know I know I'm not right.

I know I wouldn't be right, however I feel like I am close.

def check_speed(car_speed)
  if car_speed >= 40 && car_speed <= 50
    return "safe"
else
    return "Unsafe"
end

Remember to end your "if" statement as well as the def.
