I need help adding a conditional statement

I've watched the videos over a few times and I'm still not getting the problem, could someone help me get through these objects?

Hi, I'm not sure if you're getting an error message that might help diagnose your problem, but on line 3 of app.js, is request defined anywhere? I think it should probably be xhr instead?
