I need help with this challenge.

Using the console's printf method, display a message that says, "First name: ", followed by the first name that the user has entered.

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("Sandy");
String lastName = console.readLine("Thor");
console.printf = ("First name: %s, firstName")

Hi Sandy. There are a few errors in your printf statement:

console.printf = ("First name: %s, firstName")
  • there is no need for the equal (=) sign. The statement should be console.printf();
  • you misplaced your closing quote. The String ends after %s, before the comma. firstName is the variable that will replace the %s placeholder.
  • you are missing a semi-colon at the end of your statement.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks Lauren!! I figured it out last night.

You're welcome! I'm glad you sorted it out yourself :)
