I think I'm still not understanding some fundamentals with the id grabs. I refactored the code to grab all items and...

It's still not inputting all the items from the rainbow Id in a way that the for loop can iterate over.

var listItems = document.querySelectorAll('#rainbow')[0];
var colors = ["#C2272D", "#F8931F", "#FFFF01", "#009245", "#0193D9", "#0C04ED", "#612F90"];

for(var i = 0; i < colors.length; i ++) {
  listItems[i].style.color = colors[i];

You're close. You just need to select the list items, not the list itself.

var listItems = document.querySelectorAll('#rainbow li');
