I understand the concept the of Many to Many, but cant understand why .net and EF haven't made this more intuitive

Is there any other "database framework" besides Entity for C# out there that makes this common task in developing many to many relationships much less repetitive and painstakingly time consuming for something that is so often used?

I would think something better than Entity would have come along in the last so many years Or do I need to switch programming languages?
