I used getElementsTaagName('ul')

Still no success

Hi Jacquelyn,

Since there is only <ul> element in the HTML you can use document.querySelector(), document.querySelector() returns the first instance of an html element, so this will work here where there is only one <ul> in the html.

This should work:

var myList = document.querySelector('ul');
var firstListItem;
