I want to add friends here, can teamtreehouse add this function?

I guess this is a feature request...

So I just want to keep track & message people if I have a question, easiest way if I can follow or friend people. So I can invite them faster to a question.

They give you recommendations of people to contact that have the expertise in the area of your question. Thats the best way. Treehouse wouldnt want people to be singled out and bothered since they are students too. Not everyone has the time to participate.
