I want to develop an Android social media app

So, I am currently learning Java and i will continue with Beginner Android Development Track.

I have an idea for social media app. It is NOT similar to most social apps like Facebook, Twitter... It will involve a lot of animations, transitions ( imagine a mix of social media app and a simple video game)- the core elements will be its design(GUI) and UX. Do you think Java is a good language to create such an app ? Am i heading the right way (Track wise) ? Thanks.
