I was just wondering if you change tracks, what happens?

I'm sure it won't delete my current progress on the track but I just wonder why it seems like a big jump to "switch tracks". I read some similar answers saying it's just to keep you focused on the current track but I just want to make sure I don't screw up anything haha.

Thanks in advance, Zach

Zach;

Treehouse will remember you previous progress should you desire to switch tracks. It happens often. The tracks are designed to take you from the start to a reasonable stopping point on associated projects. If you get part way through the Web Design Track and decide to change (for whatever reason) to Learn WordPress, it is perfectly okay. Go back to Web Design when you want to continue (great courses by the way).

You may also utilize the Library to explore other topics or if, for example, you really get excited by CSS in the Web Design Track, go to the Library and go through the CSS topics and come out the other side as a SASS Ninja. If, on the other hand, JavaScript is a major hurdle in Front End Web Development, work through some of those specific courses prior to getting back into the Track content.

Happy coding,

Ken

It for sure won't delete your progress in the other track :)

As you read, only being able to do one track at a time is to keep you focused on the relevant material, and to keep from having some mix ups.

You can safely switch tracks as many times as you'd like, and if you know something already and would like to advanced past a locked section of a track, just head over the the Library, where you can find every single course, Track free.
