I was unable to append newParagraph.createElement('p'); with div.

let contentDiv = document.getElementById("content"); let newParagraph = document.createElement('p'); newParagraph.className = 'panel'; contentDiv.appendChild('newParagraph');

<div id="content"></div>

I was unable to find out the reason why I couldn't get through one of the challenges. I was asked to append newParagraph to the div. I have tried the above code. But I says error. Can any one please help me with this?

app.js
let contentDiv = document.getElementById("content");
let newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = 'panel';
contentDiv.appendChild('newParagraph');
index.html

<html>

        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">

        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

contentDiv.appendChild('newParagraph'); should be changed to contentDiv.appendChild(newParagraph);

The appendChild method takes a DOM Node object. 'newParagraph' is a string; what you really want to pass is the variable called newParagraph which represents a DOM Node object - to do this you write the variable name without quotes.

As a more general rule, when you're passing a variable, the variable name should not be quoted.
