Ideas for hackathon!

I was in a hackathon last year, it was a great experience, first and only one I have attended. It was marketed towards building an app , mobile or web app, that helped the institution that made the event. There was a money prize for the winners, but in order to cash it they would have to actually finish the app and provide the code the institution. It was a well paid project, at least the group of students that I went with. It was quite stressful working against the clock, it was a two day event too, so there were occasional breaks. Food and drinks were given out at almost all times. And there were a couple of non programming related activities during the breaks that awarded the winners with prizes, such as an I - pad , they were a massive rock paper scissors contest and a general knowledge trivia about comics, cartoons and some IT facts, such as HTML stands for... I would recommend partnering up with a tech company that can offer tech for free. For example we partner up with Microsoft a lot and they offer free membership to Azul.
