If I type code in a Treehouse workspace, it doesn't work, if I copy and paste it in console, it works. Why?

Im talking about the jQuery lessons. Starting from the creating of a new element + close button. Works fine in console, not in workspace. What' s the issue?

A common workspace mistake is forgetting to save editing changes before you refresh the preview. Or just forgetting to refresh the preview.

But if that's not it, for a more thorough analysis you could make a workspace snapshot and post the link to it here.
