3,930 PointsIf i want to access <a> tags within <div> of class .footer using the & wouldn't I just use ".footer & { }" within my "a"
The exact task on treehouse is "We want to add an exception for <a> tags that are in the <div> with a class of .footer: those links should be purple. Use the post-selector ampersand to achieve this." when they mention "exception" does that just mean an inline adjustment?

You know what my favorite restaurant in San Francisco is? The answer is that there are so many great restaurants that I couldn't choose one. But honorable mentions include <a href="#">Mr. Chow's</a>, <a href="#">Live Sushi</a> and <a href="#">Piccino</a>.

27,930 PointsHi,
I have had a go at the quiz and dropped the answer below, the last question which is what you are referring to is quite strange really and to be honest it seems like something that has been done simply to illustrate a use of the post-selector & nothing more than that.
/* Write your SCSS code below. */
p {
a {
color: red;
div.footer & {
color: purple;
}
}
> a {
color: blue;
&:hover {
opacity: 0.5;
}
}
}
Hope this helps, Craig
