I'm confused on why my code is not working

??

class Product:
    _price = 0.0
    tax_rate = 0.12

    def __init__(self, base_price):
        self._price = base_price

    @property
    def price(self):
        return self._price + (self._price * self.tax_rate)price

    @price.setter
    def price(self, change):
        self._price = change

You have (accidentally I presume) added the word price at the end of the price getter method, which is invalid. The setter you have written is fine so if you just remove that word, like this:

class Product:
    _price = 0.0
    tax_rate = 0.12

    def __init__(self, base_price):
        self._price = base_price

    @property
    def price(self):
        return self._price + (self._price * self.tax_rate) # removed `price`

    @price.setter
    def price(self, change):
        self._price = change

Then your code will be accepted.
