C# C# Basics (Retired) Perfect Variable Scope

Im lost

not sure where i should move my code i re watched the lesson several times but im still not clear on the scope

    {

        {            
            input = Console.ReadLine();

            {
                string output = "Goodbye.";
            }
            else
            {

Perhaps these hints will help:

  • a variable should be declared before (or when) it is assigned
  • a variable should only be declared one time, but can be assigned any number of times
  • a variable should be declared in the outermost scope in which it is used

Look at this line " input = Console.ReadLine(); ", you didn't declare the variable "input" appropriately. You need to tell the compiler what data type "input" should be? Look at the variable declaration for "output" as an example.
