I'm really confused about the JS Track update - help!

Just a few minutes ago, I updated my JS Track, like recommended, but they totally nerfed some courses I was looking forward to. Treehouse is obviously doing what is best for learning, but all of a sudden some of the jQuery basics courses I already completed are gone, and a new 94 minute one has taken its place. I have to do this one to pass the track, even though I've had a lot of previous experience with jQuery on Treehouse. Do I just do all the new courses they put out even though I've already done ones similar to it??

Hi Gabriel,

Good question! There are a lot of reasons our teaching team will update a track, for example- updated content, improved lessons, more relevant topics to today's market. I personally would recommend going through the updated track as is if you can. However, if you believe that your skills in a particular area are up to par and you don't need the course, then by all means, don't take it and move on in the track to the skills more pertinent or of interest to you.

Thanks Jay!

I was planning on doing all the courses now, as if I had never done them. I think it would be beneficial. Thanks for the help!

So I rejected the update to the track, and accidentally did the jquery basics. Let's just say I can see why it was updated. I would like to accept the update now, is there any way that I can get the update after rejecting it?

Hey Erin,

If you access the track page and add ?show_current_version=true to the end of it and hit return, it should force the track to update to its latest version. Thank you!
