I'm stuck on CSS Basics challenge task 3/3

target the paragraph that is descendant of the footer element. add a color property and set the value to slategrey? my answer is footer p { color: slategrey; }

The only obvious problem I see is that you have an : instead of an ; after your style for the header span element. Aside from that, I don't see a problem with your code other than the fact that it is all on one line and a bit difficult to read. It is possible that there is something else going on that just doesn't stand out because of how the code is spaced.

I would suggest fixing the ; and write the code out in a more traditional manner (see below).

In addition you have 2 spaces between the footer and p (instead of 1) It should be like this:

footer p  { 
color: slategrey; 
}

and not:

footer  p  { 
color: slategrey; 
}

doesn't work! they said: Make sure you're not using a class selector for 'footer'.
