I'm stuck on this portion of the challenge: "You don't seem to have any <option> elements within the <select> element"

I can't seem to identify what I'm doing wrong in my code on this challenge. Appreciate the help!

Hello Michael,

I think the problem is with the <optgroup> tag you added. I am not familiar with this tag and the challenge didn't specifically ask you to include it. I find the challenges are very specific in what they want and they won't tolerate any extra code.

When I removed the open and closing <optgroup> tags it passed the tests.

          <option value="red">Red</option>
          <option value="yellow">Yellow</option>
          <option value="purple">Purple</option>
          <option value="blue">Blue</option>
          <option value="green">Green</option>
          <option value="orange">Orange</option>
</select>

Thanks Heidi! You are correct & I finally sorted this out ha! The <optgroup> was wrong in the challenge to "label the select menu" -- instead it was <label for="color>Shirt Color:"</label>
