Hello,

do i need to download antivirus on iMac? or it protects himself?

I've never used an antivirus program on my Mac, and I started with a Mac Plus in the late 80's.

As long as you're smart and don't download and install software from dubious sources, it's not something you likely will ever have to worry about.

the thing is i want to download something and when i did it says it can't open because its not from secure developer but i used that program like two years on pc ... and i need to download some other program too but never know if a virus come.

Hi Aurelian,

Open your system preferences/security there you will see three options,

All applications downloaded from:

Mac app store
Mac app store and identified developers
Anywhere

Changing the setting to anywhere will let you launch the application, (I take it you trust the developer)
Then I would suggest changing it back to Mac app store and identified developers.

Hope this helps.

I've never run antivirus on my mac in ten years.

thank you . It asks me even when i want to download photoshop, everything ;p , i didn't needed to change something. It was already there if i want to open it and if i trust it :D thank you all
