39,199 PointsYour issue is probably related to the atomic save
feature. If the file is being previewed in the Windows preview pane or being watched by a plugin by something like live reload it won't let atomic save
s work.
You can disable atomic saves by modifying your preferences
Preferences | Settings - User
and adding in {"atomic_save": false}

That's not the source of the issue!
There are lots of threads mentioning people effectively using (and saving files) with an unlicensed version of Sublime.
