Impossible to clone a local repository

I keep getting "fatal: repository my_repo does not exist" after $ git clone my_repo other_person_repo. I already checked permissions and I am pretty sure my_repo exists. What can I do?

Well the repo should to be able to clone after the process you have mentioned. An other way to go to the repo and download it manually from the GIT web page. If you are using github download from the github web UI.
