In the extension FilteredImageCell, I am getting an error message saying that extensions cannot have storable properties

It won't let me add the line let drawableRectSize ... How do I fix this?

Can you post your code? I have a feeling you are getting this error because you are trying to add the line let drawableRectSize outside the function.
