Python

index += 1?

what does index +=1 mean?

1 Answer

The += operator is a shorthand operator that adds the value on the right to the variable found on the left. In other words it performs the same action as doing this:

index = index + 1 # Set index equal to itself plus 1

So whatever value was stored in index will increase by 1.
