CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Box Shadows

inset value makes box-shadow disappear in Chrome

When I add "inset" to my box-shadow property, the entire box-shadow disappears in Chrome. When I remove "inset" it reappears. Am I missing something here or is Chrome not rendering this properly?

img { box-shadow: inset 0 0 10px 5px red; }

I think I may have figured it out. The inset value appears only to work when an image is set as a background-image instead of directly in an HTML <img> tag.
