Install Express and package.json

I'm looking in Finder and I've noticed that every time that I run

npm install express --save

my computer creates about 10 package.json files. I'm curious - does anyone know why this is? Thanks!

Well, Express has dependencies of its own and it's dependencies have their own dependencies and so on... It needs to install those dependencies in order to perform it's function. Frankly, I'm surprised it's only 10... sure you're counting that right?
