10,065 PointsHi Alexander!
I can understand that this part of setting up might be quite frustrating. Had some troubles myself too!
Have you checked if your version of the Eclipse Software is compatible with your version of Windows XP?

11,095 PointsI used the default one that came in the tree house bundle ...
would I have to go to eclipse.com and download a specific version?
if so, which one would work with XP service pack 3?

10,065 PointsIt might also be a good idea to try out the following link, it should automatically detect the best version for you.

11,095 PointsThanks Stefan,
I tried but still doesn't work, guess I will have to wait to get to my home computer and give it a try,
thanks for your time,
Ben Jakuben
Treehouse TeacherSorry for the trouble! The Windows installations just aren't as easy, unfortunately. What error do you get with the link Stefan posted? We talk about using that bundle instead in this older Forum post.

1,165 PointsIt's also the fact that eclipse is mostly Linux based. Not that they don't understand everything but the basic .exe file type us windows guys click on daily.

11,095 PointsGood day,
thank you for your time, the issues i have is when running the initial set up batch file, in line 16 where it tries to create the avd, it shows "the system cannot find the path specified" and asks me to set Android_SWT to point to the folder containing the swt.jar for my platform, however it gets to the line of code where it outputs "AVD created" .... secondly when trying to install eclipse i get "(Filepath)\eclipse.exe is not a valid win 32 application", I was able to install it on a friends windows vista computer, however since I'm running windows XP service pack 3, it doesn't seem to recognize it. would you have any recommendations on either problem?
im trying to put the screen shots of errors i get, the file path is "C:\Documents and Settings\adelagarza\Desktop" and the file name is "Eclipse_Error.jpg"
i tried opening it in the browser which i know doesn't recognize spaces but puts the %20 to represent it as a HEX ASCII char
and i get the following,
"file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/adelagarza/Desktop/Eclipse_Error.jpg"
trying to add it to the forums I put "!alt text](/path/to/img.jpg "Title")" (i removed the initial square bracket so the text shows)
however it doesn't seem to load ... am i doing something wrong?
