Internal Server Error

I keep getting this Internal Server Error. I have been trying so hard to figure out how to fix it for about a month now and I am just getting so frustrated and discouraged. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I made sure to edit the wp-config file to make sure the database name and user are correct. This happened when I was migrating a redesign from a local site to a live site. I have gone over Zac Gordon's video about a thousand times, and nothing changes after i follow every step carefully. The wierd thing is that the Home page, and the wp-admin work fine, but all the other pages have the Internal Server Error. Here is the Internal Server Error message. And here is the website URL. Feel free to go check it out and see if you can figure out whats wrong. Thank you guys! Happy coding!

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@gentlerockwebdesign.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I see that your site is showing up now, at least I can see the different pages using Chrome. Which browser are you using? If it's not working for you, then it's probably just germane to your browser, esp. if it's Internet Explorer.

Before I checked you site I was going to recommend a few other things to try:

It could have to do with your site move, maybe check these codex insructions about changing the URL in the database: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database

You could try switching to a different theme temporarily to see if that solves anything and then switch back.

If that doesn't work, check your htaccess file, it should be something like this: http://codex.wordpress.org/htaccess

Hey Jenny you're are right! Here is an example of what was going on before. Check out this site. Gentlerockdesigns.com. This is one I was trying to fix for 2 months so I finally decided to get a new domain name and hosting and do everything all over again. So i did that and the Internal Server Error happened again. And now all of a sudden it's working. I didn't do anything to fix it.

If you have custom permalinks try logging in to the admin area and going to Settings > Permalinks then setting them to default, save, then change back to to your custom settings, then save again.

I've come across this issue regularly and this is what fixes it for me. I'm not sure why it happens though ...

Hi Stephen, I am just using post name for the permalink structure, but I tried setting it to default, save, and then setting it back for that anyways and no luck.. Thank you for the suggestion though!

It looks like your site is fixed now?
I was going to write that you should make sure there are no extra spaces in your wp-config file as that can throw an error.

Jenny, the site is functional on the home page, but all the other pages have the internal server error. I will make sure to check the wp-config file again to make sure there are no spaces. Thanks.
