Intro to Treehouse Workshop?

Hi Treehouse community! It's been some time now since I first joined Treehouse. I'm wondering, when new students join, are there any directions, guidelines, or hints on how to use and navigate Treehouse?

I've been seeing several posts in the Community lately where fellow students are having trouble figuring out how to actually use Treehouse. Whether it's re-watching videos, downloading course material, or not being aware of certain features.

Would it be helpful if Treehouse had a video, or workshop, that walked through everything? I noticed there's a workshop on using workspaces. Do you think something similar would be helpful for beginners who want to understand how to get the most out of Treehouse? Like a "Welcome to Treehouse!" workshop.

While I realize not everyone would want or need something like that, I can't help but feel it'd be helpful for some. Curious if others feel the same way.

Hello Kristopher,

I've seen many posts about these common questions as well, and I believe we should address it. I'm not sure when Treehouse will make a workshop like this (maybe one exists that I haven't seen) but I'd like to take action on it to help in the meantime, unless someone can point to an existing Workshop that covers these topics.

I'll record and post a video on YouTube outlining the features of Treehouse that people struggle with, so please list what you've seen students struggle with the most and I'll cover it.

Thanks for the response Justin! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I've searched and searched and haven't found anything like this that exists in the library or anywhere. I also had thought about making some sort of tutorial but wasn't sure if having a public video showing the inside of Treehouse would be violating their terms and conditions.

To name just a few things I notice people struggling with:

-Finding videos they've already watched so they can re-watch them

-Where to go to download course material

-Posting code in the forum

-Understanding WHY quizzes and challenges don't immediately show you the answer when you've gotten it wrong

-Knowing the ins and outs of Treehouse and what all the links and buttons do, or where they take you. Like the checkmarks or circles above videos and challenges.

There's a few more but they've escaped me at the moment.
