How do i get array_sum to work?

<?php

$numbers = array(1,5,8);

$sum = 0;

array_sum($numbers) {
    $sum = $sum + $number;
}

echo $sum;

?>

array_sum() is a built-in php function. There is no need to add the {$sum = $sum + $number} part after you called the array_sum function.

    $sum = array_sum($numbers);
    echo $sum;
