Can I only make Iphone apps with OS yosemite on my mac?

42,016 Pointsyou can make iPad apps, universal apps. any iOS app. you can make Mac apps.
you can make android apps.
you can make any kind of apps except windows apps really
if you are asking if you need yosemite to make apps then no, you can make apps with a different version of OS X (provided its at least 10.9.4) . although the latest version of Xcode (what you need to write iOS/Mac apps) might not run on some older versions of OS X

42,016 Pointsno you dont need yosemite for the latest version of Xcode and swift, as long as your OS X is fairly recent (10.9.4 and later)

42,016 Pointsoh yeah thats too old to run xcode 6.1. the older OS's like mavericks are not available on the app store anymore since yosemite released.
you can still download them though. a google search should turn up some results.
is there a reason you wont install yosemite?

5,933 PointsLots of bad reviews on it i been reading in the App store, causes some glitches on the Mac, so I figure I play it safe and go with a different OS version, what do you think?

42,016 PointsIve been running it fine. my main issue is with the latest release of xcode, not Yosemite. xcode 6.1 is pretty buggy, but its alright
