iOS App updating from a DB online?

Hello Community, I'm relatively new and have a few questions. I have an app out currently that a developer helped me with but I am trying to restructure and re-design to make it easier for me to manage on my own. I've been taking classes here for iOS but I just have a quick (hopefully quick) question. The app would need to use a data feed of sorts that I can store online, it seems that the easier option would be to host a database full on the info the app needs to read from and display. Can an app load information from a DB that is hosted online and be set to update at the end of every day? And if I manipulate this DB through a web interface would it break the app?

Any help for me awesome or if there are any tutorials you can point me too!

Thanks!

Would the same user be accessing the data all the time? If so, you would be maybe wanting to use Core Data to store the information.

While there is content on Treehouse that references Core Data, it is not standalone coursework and it is not quite up to date. You could perhaps research how to use it yourself. Apple has lots of development guides on it. :)

I would be the only one accessing the DB as a "user" to update information the app would query. I'll look into core data! Thank you!
