Courses Plus Student 3,517 PointsiPad app
Hey guys, does anyone know about the iPad app? Does it use heaps of Internet. I'm thinking about hot spotting from my phone to my iPad on the train. Would that use to much internet?
Thank you. :)

If you were on the Pro plan, you could download the entire course to iTunes and watch offline, but if that isn't an option for you, you could test the amount of data you would use. Just reset you data count on your iPhone -> Do the lessons on the train -> check usage at the end of the day.
Keep Coding!

Treehouse TeacherIt depends a lot on the app. I definitely wouldn't suggest it for any app that uses location services. Besides using lots of internet it's also going to eat your battery life.

47,908 PointsIt's definitely not recommended if you're not on an unlimited data plan. Videos take a lot to download, so you'll probably reach your data cap really fast. Also, from experience I can tell you that it'll really burn your iPhone's battery really quickly. That all being said, the Personal Hotspot feature was made so you could do stuff like this, so you could definitely give it a shot for a while

Courses Plus Student 3,517 PointsThanks guys :), one more question, what do you mean download he videoed, can you download the whole course in one go? Witht the test after videos or what?

Treehouse Moderator 145,841 PointsIf you have a "Pro" account, then you can download all the videos for offline viewing. However, only the videos download, not the quizzes or challenges. But, when you watch the videos offline, you can come back to the course when you are online, watch the first ~15 seconds of the same video (to get the 1 point credit) and then take the quizzes and do the challenges.
