Is it css requirement that a dot should be before screen in the media query in this lecture? Doesn't work with it for me

I'm not sure if the dot should be before screen in the media query in this lecture. It works without the dot in my machine. If it's the case that the code should be corrected for this lecture, will you please include it in Teacher's notes. Many thanks for your answer.

The css media query is usually used as follows in this example;

@media screen and ( max-width: 1020px ) {

/*CSS code here*/

}
