Is it illegal to rebuild a corporation's website?

For practice, I rebuilt a website that I felt could be improved upon. Am I able to post up the static website on a portfolio, or is that illegal? I could always change around the title and details to make it non-related to the original website.

It depends, sir, but you might as well assume that it is: since you're asking.

Check the licenses on the images, CSS, JS and content. Hit Ctrl+F and type: "Copyright"

Hi Matthew,

I think if you were to add a disclaimer that your redesign was strictly for a personal project and that all copied assets are copyright their original owner, I think you'd be ok. The worst case would be they'd ask you to take it down.
