iOS App Clean-up, Submission and Review

Is it necessary to test on all simulators? Is it necessary to test on all versions of iOS that the app is available on?

I know Gabe mentions in the video to test on real devices, but is it still useful to test on every simulator provided in Xcode, from the iPhone 4s all the way to the 6s Plus? Also, if the app is supposed to work on multiple versions of iOS, do I (ideally) need to have real devices for each version of iOS as well (i.e. do I need one set of iPhones with iOS 9 and then another set of iPhones with iOS 8)?

No, you dont need to physically own all these devices. There are tons of software out there for cross browser software testing like https://www.browserstack.com/ There are others mentioned at Treehouse but not finding it in my notes.
