Is it worth it to get a tech degree if I'm from the Philippines?

I'm planning to get a techdegree but I'm having some second thoughts, since I'm from the Philippines and the only option for us to work as a web developer is finding an employer online. I've been teaching myself to code but I want to take the next step - Techdegree.

We all know that enrolling on a techdegree course is expensive, but if this can provide me a decent work/employer online with a reasonable salary then it's all worth my time and money.

Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alex!

We appreciate your interest in our Techdegree program! We believe the skills and attitude a student gains will ultimately secure them a job, not the degree itself. This is why we focus on providing students with high-quality curriculum that sets them up for success. Future employers will be able to see the code you've written to determine how well you've done and to show off your skills.

The final exam is important in the sense that it's the final chapter of the Techdegree process. That final exam will earn you a digital certificate which you can showcase on your public portfolio. While all of the projects showcased in your portfolio will be the core of what employers seek, the certificate will be that icing on the cake!

We hope this information helps! We do offer a 7-day free trial for the Techdegree if you'd like to check it out :)

Best, Kara
