30,286 PointsIs it worth to publish on amazon?
Is it any good to post an android app on amazon? I see no point in posting there but I might be wrong. They charge 100$ per year and same royalities with a much smaller market. At least here in Portugal I didn't even knew they had an app store. I have an iphone but most of my friends didn't knew it existed...
The market in the US or in the rest of the world is that big that it is worth to post there? I don't see much advantage in it since anyone can get it from google play anyways...

15,645 PointsThe Kindle tablets are some of the most popular android devices and as far as I know they can't access the Google Play store. There are some workarounds but I doubt most customers will do that. I don't own a Kindle tablet so this may have changed, please correct me if I am wrong!

30,286 PointsIs kindle very popular in the US? Someone has data on this? It would be very helpful.
Here in Portugal and the few EU countries I feel amazon has a low presence but I might be wrong. And in other countries I have no idea.

15,645 PointsA quick search came up with varying reports for US/Canada tablet sales (10%-30% marketshare) which has decreased in 2013 compared to 2012. However usage as of June 2013 was the highest of all non iPad tablets. Again I would stress I don't know much about the Kindle, just trying to give some help in the right direction.

30,286 PointsYes of course. That was the reason why I started this discussion. So if the app is more targeted to smartphones I think there would be no reason to post on amazon since the only reason seems to be the kindle in the US and Canada.

15,645 PointsWell, the Kindle isn't a phone but most (every?) android phone/tablet can use the Amazon Appstore. You'd want to look into the %of people who actively use it, if people are more willing/likely to spend money there compared to Google Play etc.
