Is jshell running really really slowly for anyone?

Hi - I'm launching the workspace with jshell on 1/7/17 and the performance is pretty bad compared to Craig's video; I can't seem to even enter anything after saving my name as a variable. Will this impact my ability to follow the next few exercises? Is it worth running jshell on my own terminal? Any thoughts welcome!

Speaking for myself, I've found jshell rather slow to accept it's first command or two but speeds up after that.
