Is the coding for games and business apps such as a productivity similar? Can a game developer create producitivity apps

They are both programs that require a canvas and event listeners for keyboard/mouse and focus events. In JavaScript Basics, the intro example showed how JavaScript was capable of multiple types of programs from business, to website interaction, to games. So long answer short, yes
