Is the Crystal ball app supposed to work?

If we follow the video instructions is the Crystal ball App supposed to work at the end of "Getting Started with iPhone?" I restarted three times and I always get the error that I have not defined text.

reason: '-[UIRoundedRectButton setText:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance

Pretty sure something went wrong when I set up the label. I'm new - but it seems when the button is pressed --- it is supposed to change the text.

To check for errors I have to listen through 1/2 dozen videos, with no central place to see the actual text - like in a text box or in the transcript.

So is the point of this tutorial to watch the video or is it build something.

If it is to build something - HOW ABOUT SOME EXAMPLE CODE NOT STUCK WITHIN FIVE OR SIX VIDEOS?

I do not see where my code is any different than his ... but how can I tell without spending hours re-watching the video.

I have to re-size the windows, search the video, type it all in, compare to what he types ... run ... get error .. go back ... search for anything different in my code versus his.

WHAT AM I MISSING HERE?

It would help to see your code or project. But my hunch is that when connecting your IBOutlet you connected the button to the label property. I would say delete the IBoutlet & property and redo that part. If you are still having issues please paste your or code here or better yet zip up your project and share it via Dropbox or some other similar service.

First - Thank you so much for answering. You are the real guy! I almost included in my first post that I thought the instruction was great - but the video system was frustrated.

So let me say - you are doing a great job, very clear and very likable. Easy to watch. I realize you have to accommodate all levels of programming in your videos.

I will start over from the beginning. If I still have problems I will post the code. I figured I missed something basic or obvious but I just couldn't find it.

Thanks again. Your answer is very encouraging. I'm very impressed that the actual instructor answered my post.

Anyway ... I got it to work. Not sure what I missed before.

Found a better system to stop the video while keeping both my XCode and video screens sort of side by side.

Thanks.
