Is the function syntax incorrect?

It says my function syntax is incorrect, can someone please explain to me the correct syntax?

def even_odd(7):
    if 7 % 2 != 0:
        return True
    else
        return False

You are on the right track but have made a couple of mistakes

  1. The function must take an argument. You have put the number 7, you can call it anything you want.
  2. Thd function must return False when odd, and True when even.
  3. You are just missing the : after else
def even_odd(num):
    if num % 2 != 0:
        return False
    else:
        return True
