CSS Sass Basics (retired) Advanced Sass Concepts Interpolating and if/else

is there a bug in the challenge ?

this challenge causes me some trouble. I have coded my scss as follows:

/* Write your SCSS code below. */ @mixin cars ($make, $color) { .#{$make} { border: 1px solid black; background-image: url("#{$color}.png"); } }

$time: "morning";

a { @if $time=="morning" { color: red; } @else if $time=="afternoon" { color: blue; } @else { color: gray; } }

Challenge's "check work" tells me I must declare a $time and set it to "morning", which I have done. I also checked this live in my browser and obviously it works. So what's wrong there ? any bug in the challenge or did I miss something ?

I haven't learned some of this yet but it looks like your style.css file is saved as style.scss and your calling a style.css in html? Hopefully that helps!
