Is there a reason, other than manual install, to keep the Wordpress software on my computer?

I had already done the 1-minute install because I was following along with the video. So I won't be going through the manual Wordpress install, and wonder if it's necessary to keep the software on my computer. Will we actually use it for anything other than installation? Thanks.

Not really. As soon as you have it downloaded, you don't need the installer file anymore. Unless you want to create a local Wordpress site. And even then it is a pretty quick download from the Wordpress website.
